Janey Pictures is an independent Irish film and television production company founded by producer Tommy Weir and writer/director Marian Quinn. Based in County Leitrim, Janey Pictures is dedicated to creating distinctive, character-driven stories with a strong sense of place and emotional authenticity.

The company’s debut feature, 32A, an Irish-German coproduction with Flying Moon Filmproduction, won Best First Feature at the Galway Film Fleadh, received the Tiernan McBride Screenwriting Award, and was nominated for multiple Irish Film & Television Awards (IFTAs), including Best Picture, ultimately winning for Best Cinematography. 32A premiered internationally at the Berlinale and was selected for over 100 film festivals worldwide, establishing Janey Pictures’ reputation for quality and festival-friendly filmmaking.

Janey Pictures’ most recent feature, TWIG, coproduced with Ruth Carter of Blue Ink Films, opened the Dublin International Film Festival in 2024 and screened at notable international events including the Woodstock Film Festival (USA) and the Dinard Festival of British and Irish Film (France). The company has also produced acclaimed artist films, such as Nightfall (representing Ireland at the Venice Biennale) and Black Square (exhibited at IMMA), reflecting a commitment to innovative collaborations across the visual arts.

With several new projects in development, Janey Pictures continues to work with leading Irish and international talent, building on a track record of award-winning features, successful festival runs, and dynamic partnerships.
